Hi im Isabel, i'm 25 now and have grown up with asthma & eczema but when i became pregnant 4 years ago it got out of control. It came and went over the last few years with me only using the doctors prescribed creams. Now im 20 weeks pregnant again and its out of control again. Im flaring up and itch it to the point of bleeding but its mostly in my sleep, very hard to control. I cut my nails frequently. I went to the doctor and being pregnant the highest strength cream they can give me is the 1% steroid cream and to use sparingly. I dont even believe this cream to be very beneficial not to mention any effects it could have on my baby. Im so fed up with the doctors not being able to help me, they can see how bad it is and whats frustrating is that its worst on my neck & chest so very self conscious of what i wear making things difficult, its so ugly!! Second worse on my arm & leg inner joints.
Last night i was at my wits end itching away in pain and inflamed skin that i jumped on the net yet again and tryed to search for a home remedy... willing to try ANYTHING.
Most things i didnt have but then i came across something that suggested white or apple vinegar.. i have that but gee thats gonna hurt. I manned up and went and had a shower and squirted some on my skin. im pretty sure i actually screamed in pain when i put it on i washed it off and it started to feel ok. After my shower i put a cold flannel on my neck for a while to try get the heat out. I manned up again and dapped a cotton bud with the vinegar and rubbed it into my infected areas. It hurt like a mother f*$&%er for about 10 seconds then it settled down and within 5 minutes the urge to itch had gone. I couldnt believe it.
Im sitting here 24 hours later and its cleared up so much with me only using the vinegar (when i start to sense any itchy sensations) and the fatty moisturizer cream. I would still like to find a cream to put on after the itching has gone to help with the clearing up so thats why im starting this blog... i want to help people in my situation because up until now iv lived with this and im FED UP and appalled that the doctors cant help me??? Its such a common disease. I dont want to spend the $200 it costs for an initial appointment at a dermatitis clinic and i rang a couple of naturalist but they didnt ring me back so doing this for myself and you!
Next few weeks im going to trial some herbal, creams & oils so il let u know what works and what doesnt.
Top of the list so far is definitely VINEGAR!!
Please also let me know of your experiences and what works or doesnt work.. i want to know!!!!
